Nuremberg has become one of the world capitals of IT security: 753 exhibitors from 25 countries and 15,632 international trade visitors turned Exhibition Nuremberg into the main gathering place for the global IT security community. For comparison: Infosecurity London featured 400 suppliers, at the RSA San Francisco 700 companies are presenting their solutions. This is why the date in October has become a fixed and compulsory date for those wishing to present themselves on the Central European market. Another reason for this is the quality of the visitors: the it-sa is a platform for IT decision-makers, CIOs and employees with managerial responsibility. This means the chances are high to generate real and promising leads.
To stand out among the multitude of vendors, a solid, long-term preparation is required. Media relations for it-sa starts in the summer with the first press releases and invitations, followed by an intensive campaign a few weeks before the start. Tailored PR activities also include the application for speaker slots, drafting award submissions for the it-security awards, identifying media sponsor opportunities, and organizing press conferences at the exhibition.
In 2019 our dedicated agency team was able to arrange 5 to 8 media interviews and analyst meetings for each of our clients who attended. In addition to establishing long-term relationships with leading journalists, the conversations at the event led to high-quality coverage and numerous media opportunities.
As with all larger events, preparation takes a lot of time and effort and the event itself is demanding for everyone involved, both our agency team and the spokes people of our clients. But great exchanges, promising leads and impressive media coverage are more than making up for it.
